Doug Mikkonen is Senior Vice President and Senior Trust Officer with Bridgeford Trust Company, as well as a member of the Board of Managers and Trust Administrative Committee. He works with many of Bridgeford Trust Company’s largest families and leads the company’s activity and relationship management on the West Coast while performing all trust administration from offices in Pierre and Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Doug has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Bridgeford Trust Company, he was a lead financial institution examiner, focusing on South Dakota trust companies and bank trust departments for the South Dakota Division of Banking. Doug also served as a trust officer in the trust department of a large regional bank and, prior to that, spent 17 years in the investment management business, running his own hedge fund, managing investment portfolios, and authoring financial communications to clients.

Doug earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management. He holds the Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA™) designation from the American Bankers Association and the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation from the CFA Institute.
