Nicole Tupman is Deputy General Counsel at Bridgeford Trust Company. In her role, Nicole offers practical legal and regulatory guidance, ensuring Bridgeford Trust Company effectively serves its clients. She collaborates internally and with clients to meet business goals while staying compliant with legal and regulatory needs. She also supports the business in strategic initiatives, compliance needs, and advocacy.

Nicole began her legal career by clerking for the Chief Judge of U.S. District Court in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, after which she worked at the Sioux Falls office of Ballard Spahr LLP, one of the 100 largest firms in the country. In practice, she advised high and ultra-high net worth trust clients in risk mitigation, compliance, and administrative and litigation matters.

Additionally, Nicole has served as in-house legal counsel, including at an international, public company, where she led North American legal and regulatory affairs. In addition to drafting and negotiating contracts, closing acquisitions, and advocating before regulators, she knows how to find creative legal solutions to meet business needs.

Nicole earned a Bachelor of Arts, with honors, from the University of Chicago and a Juris Doctor degree, magna cum laude, from Saint Louis University School of Law. She continues to teach as an adjunct professor at the University of South Dakota School of Law.
