Nicole Tupman is Deputy General Counsel at Bridgeford Trust Company, where she provides practical legal and regulatory guidance to help ensure Bridgeford Trust Company effectively serves its clients. She collaborates internally and with clients to meet business goals while supporting the company’s strategic initiatives, compliance needs, and advocacy.

An attorney with experience in both private practice and in-house legal counsel roles, Nicole brings a broad perspective to her work. Her background includes advising high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth trust clients on risk mitigation, compliance, administrative, and litigation matters, as well as significant corporate legal and regulatory experience.

Professional Experience

Nicole began her legal career clerking for the Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, after which she joined the Sioux Falls office of Ballard Spahr LLP, one of the 100 largest law firms in the country.

Nicole has also served as in-house legal counsel, including at an international public company, where she led North American legal and regulatory affairs. Her experience included drafting and negotiating contracts, closing acquisitions, and advocating before regulators, as well as finding creative legal solutions to meet business needs.

Nicole continues to teach as an adjunct professor at the University of South Dakota School of Law.
